Job Description

You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for campers and staff during the English Explorers summer camp program. This dual role involves supporting the culinary team with meal service and dishwashing, as well as managing the daily housekeeping of bedrooms and communal living spaces. Your work ensures the camp remains organized and hygienic, providing a seamless experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Hygiene & Safety: Follow strict cleaning standards to protect the physical well-being of campers and staff.

• Kitchen Support: Take charge of washing dishes and cleaning the dining area after meals to ensure kitchen efficiency.

• Meal Service: Assist with food preparation, plating, and serving to ensure mealtimes are smooth and stress-free.

• Housekeeping: Maintain welcoming living spaces by following daily cleaning routines in bedrooms and common areas.

• Facility Organization: Manage behind-the-scenes transitions by keeping communal spaces organized and ready for the next activity.

• English Immersion: Help campers practice English by engaging in natural conversation during meal service and daily transitions.

• Inventory Management: Track cleaning supplies and report needs to management to ensure the camp stays fully operational.

• Operational Feedback: Participate in team reviews by sharing feedback on how to improve camp hygiene and general operations.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with Kitchen Staff and Camp Leaders to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness.

• Flexible Support: Maintain a ‘one-team’ mindset by pitching in with activities or general tasks whenever needed to keep campers safe and happy.

Duration & Compensation

This position is seasonal and will require 30 hours of work per week across a 10-week camp season. Please note there is a one-week scheduled break between Session 4 and Session 5.

Accommodation is provided (rent-based), and meals are included whenever your shift coincides with a scheduled mealtime. Two days off are allocated between each camp session to allow for rest and personal time.
