Camp Leader

As a Camp Leader in English Explorers, your primary responsibility is organizing fun and educational activities for the campers while teaching them English. It is also your duty to ensure the safety and happiness of all campers and promote their personal growth, skill development, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for campers, promoting a sense of belonging, respect, and cooperation.
  • Lead and assist with a variety of camp activities, including games, sports, arts and crafts, and language-based activities.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of campers during activities, meals, and free time.
  • Support campers in their language learning journey through immersion activities and interactive experiences.
  • Foster positive relationships with campers, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a fun and engaging camp environment that promotes teamwork and personal growth.

Requirements

  • Fluent or proficient in English, with the ability to effectively communicate with campers and fellow staff members.
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting preferred.
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and a passion for promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with campers of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a team, adapt to changing situations, and remain calm under pressure.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proficiency in Japanese highly regarded (optional)

Duration & Compensation

This position is seasonal and will require full time work across 5 days each week over 5 weeks. The duration of employment will vary based on camp schedules. Accommodation and meals will be covered during each session and 2 days off are allocated between each session.
