Safety Management

Our top priority for the English Explorers Camp is safety management of the camp planning and operations. At the same time we carry out a fun and educational program for the children no matter their age, physical strength and ability.

As the Activities are outdoors, the chances of injury is not 0%. Every staff member will be trained to handle any risk or incidents that may occur  during the children’s time at the English camp. It the camp leader’s duty to foresee any possible outcomes that the children can encounter.

The camp guide and all camp leaders have first aid and CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training. In case of an accident, the staff will be utilizing the flow chart as well as cooperation with the local emergency services and medical institutions.

 Safety measures for your child

1. Safety Talk

In regards to the schedule in the English programs we will explain the risk that can occur during the Camp as well as explaining how to avoid unnecessary risk and injuries during their time in the program.

2. Confirmation of the number participants

Before, during and after the activities we consistently check up on the child’s well being to see if they are OK or not.

3. Health Care/ Check

スタッフがお子様の心身の状態をきめ細かに確認し、平常とは異なった状態を見つけた場合は速やかに適切な方法で対処する。

37.5度以上の発熱や咳などの症状がある場合は参加をお控えください。

4. Clothes and Equipment check

The staff will check the children’s clothes and equipment to make sure they are appropriate for the day’s activity. Please make sure you check the clothes and equipment list while packing for the camp.

5. Individual Follow ups

As we strive to provide a fun and exciting camp, it may be difficult for some to be away from their parents. Our camp leaders will provide comfort and daily catch ups for any English Explorers who may be having some difficulty from their loved ones.

6. Allergies

With the information submitted through the application form regarding the allergies, we will create an action plan regarding the appropriate action that is needed to be applied through such circumstances. For children who use an epipen or are anaphylactic will be required to bring 2 epi pens which includes a spare. As some children may have certain allergies, bringing  your food and snacks are prohibited.

Outdoor activities safety management will be supervised by our activity leader (Camp Guide) and will coordinate with our camp leaders throughout the program.

3. During the camp program, there will be daily staff meetings to discuss the safety management information and each child’s concentration level, physical fitness, and other information. This will help the staff  construct the best safety system for the children.

4. If the outdoor activity is affected by the weather and it is unsafe to proceed with the activity, we have indoor activities to accommodate the program.

5.   We must be very safe when we are doing water activities and to do so, it is a requirement that we check and make sure that the number of people including children and staff wear life jackets.
